The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability) endorses the skills and knowledge needed to work effectively with people with a disability.

This qualification provides an entry point for those looking to work in disability or a certification for those who currently work in the sector and are looking to formalise their skills and experience. This course focuses on developing the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to provide support to a range of people with a disability, as well as learning the skills to assist them to develop greater levels of independence and community participation.

  • Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites for this qualification. It is recommended that students are 16 years of age or older and have a sound understanding of English, good communication and interpersonal skills. You will also be required to obtain a National Police Clearance check and in some jurisdictions a Working with Vulnerable People check.

  • Duration

The course duration is 12 months (36 weeks without term breaks and public holidays) with students attending 1 day a week for 6.5 hours each day. This includes all learning and assessment activities.

Students will also complete 120 hours of mandatory work placement outside of the classroom face to face timings.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
