Overview

This qualification is most applicable to security professionals or risk managers already established in their professions who want to formalise their skills or to gain a more grounded theoretical approach to specialist security risk management skills. It will suit those who need to measure trends and develop predictions relating to issues that may cause harm or loss to an organisation’s physical or human resources.

Successful completion of this course will allow you to work at the highest levels in the security industry both in Australia and overseas, providing specialist security advice. The program is also well suited to individuals
who need to conduct general risk management in a variety of industries.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisite entry requirements for these programs; however we would expect you already work in the security industry and/or a risk management capacity. We would also expect that you
exhibit a strong sense of leadership and focus, as this course ideally suits those who are serious about progressing and maintaining a career in the security industry.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and you must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework.
  • You must have access to the internet and a computer to conduct self paced study and research away from the classroom.

Duration and Structure

The course covers approximately 1200 hours of learning with up to 18 months to complete as self paced distance education conducting research and analysis and is completed entirely online.

Learning materials and resources will be provided electronically through the student learning portal on our website. Assessment will be a combination of practical scenario, case study and written theory. Assessment tasks will involve research and developing risk management plans.
