Course location and timings

This course is run :

Granville: Wednesday 9am to 4pm

Liverpool: Saturday 9am to 4pm

Please call our reception to book for the course.

  • Please note Star Training does not have dedicated parking. It is suggested you take public transport for the day as we are only 2 minutes walk from the Granville train station and 5 minutes from the Liverpool train station. If you drive you will need to find a local paid parking solution.

Structure

We run our courses as a mixed mode delivery. This means you need to complete a pre-course assessment workbook prior to attending a 1 day practical session. The workbook must be collected in person from one of our campuses, completed and returned at least 48 hours prior to your practical training day, to allow for marking and feedback.

Prerequisites

You must also complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test online prior to enrolling, this is to determine if you have the necessary skills to successfully complete training without being disadvantaged. This must be completed prior to attempting your assessment. If you find it difficult, we suggest contacting a Star Training office as we may not be able to offer you training, but can recommend support which may assist you. The LLN test will be sent to you as an electronic link. Please complete this prior to attempting the assessment.

You must complete the theory component and LLN test at least 48 hours prior to attending your practical training day, which includes reading learning material and completing assessment questions. Do not skip components of the learning material, you must read each section as this is important fundamental learning. If you have not completed and submitted the LLN test and the assessment prior to the practical training day, you will not be admitted to class. There are no exceptions to this rule. The reading and assessment will take between 4-8 hours to complete depending on your skill level.

  • Award

Upon successful completion of the course candidates will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the Unit of Competency HLTAID012 Provide an emergency First Aid response in an education and care setting.
